Cassandra desperately needs the money she counted on from auctioning her jewels to keep Sophie safe. Ambury successfully bid on a pair of Cassandra's most valuable earrings, but weeks after the auction he has yet to pay Cassandra the money he owes her. What Cassandra doesn't know is that Ambury has his own reasons for withholding payment.
