After Shep Davis loses his job, he moves his family to Lancaster County, where he has inherited a house and a bicycle shop. His wife, Jennie, is a stay-at-home mom, caring for their two teenagers and lovingly restoring their new home. Still, she longs to help out the family financially. When her Amish neighbor encourages her to sell her fabulous homemade candy, Jennie jumps on the suggestion. Soon the candy business is in full swing, but the bike shop isn't doing so well, which causes stress in Jennie's marriage. Then a teenage Amish boy who needs help renews for them the meaning of Christmas. VERDICT Keller's (A Plain & Fancy Christmas; An Amish Christmas) pleasant, old-fashioned novel is a welcome addition to the growing Amish Christmas stories genre. Recommend it to those who enjoyed Shelley Shepard Gray's Christmas in Sugarcreek or Mary Ellis's Sarah's Christmas Miracle.
